Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an advanced level apprenticeship in Quantity Surveying to work with the team initially in central London and then at the works office which will be located close to junction 17 on the M25.

Align is Joint Venture made up of Bouygues TP, Sir Robert McAlpine and VolkerFitzpatrick. It is responsible for delivering the £965m Chilterns Tunnels and Colne Valley Viaduct contract as part of a section of the new High Speed Rail link between London and Birmingham.

The role involves working with the commercial team within the ALIGN project team on the HS2 rail link.

Duties will include reviewing budgets, assessing cost forecast and calculating valuations. Attendance at college will be on a block or day release.

The advanced apprenticeship in quantity surveying deals with all aspects of commercial work within a multi-disciplinary construction team involved with the design and delivery of a key section of the new high speed rail link London and Birmingham. We are looking for a candidate with a demonstrable interest in quantity surveying and evidence of team working skills and a keenness to learn.

Minimum qualifications are 5 GCSs A*-C or equivalent including maths, science and English and A levels or equivalent including Maths and Science grade C or above.

Excellent timekeeping and attendance will be essential together with a positive attitude to travelling (the role will involve periods of study in Langley Berkshire).

The candidate would be working towards Chartered Surveyor status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors as part of the apprenticeship. Prospects would include working on other construction projects potentially anywhere in the world.

Hours - 40 hours per week, 26 days holiday per year
