Employment Manager : The role.

• Working across Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire we are looking for someone with experience of managing and coordinating accredited training (City & Guilds) projects particularly in the horticultural, landscaping or construction industries.
• The role will work alongside different teams located in each county to build effective partnerships with local agencies, assist with recruiting learners and ensure quality assurance takes place.
• The successful applicant will also have a key role in the expansion of our clients Employment programmes, developing relationships with private and public sector organisations.
• The role demands an enthusiastic person who is able to oversee and maintain the high levels of, consistency and quality
• £28,808 - £32,339 per annum

Employment Manager : The essentials.

• Full UK driving licence and use of own car
• A minimum of two years’ practical experience in community/environmental work.
• A minimum of two years’ experience in the employment or training field
• Assessment/Assessing/Assessor Qualifications (A1,TAQA, CAVA, ACWE, AVRA, IQAA, A2)
• Ability to form close and effective working relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds
• Understanding and empathise with issues affecting young people
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills
• To manage time effectively, work under pressure and meet deadlines
• To work on own initiative and as part of a team
• Flexible, enthusiastic and confident
• Ability to use IT effectively, including Email, Internet, Word and Excel
• Commitment to equal opportunities and the participation of young people
• Knowledge of government funded employment and training programmes


Employment Manager : Your experience.

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with young/unemployed people
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience of people management
• Management and evaluation of projects
• Management of budgets
• Working in partnership with other agencies, e.g. voluntary/community groups, local authorities and police
• Management of employment programmes


Employment Manager : The desirables.

• A community, social, education or environmental qualification or training
• Verifier Qualification (IQA, V1, CAVA, EQA)
• Interest in current community and/or environmental issues
• Experience of supervising sessional workers and volunteers
• Knowledge of local authority procedures
• Fund-raising/bid writing
• Marketing and publicity
