Job Description
Looking to build a new career? This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced IQA to join a well established Training Provider in South Wales. A qualified assessor and verifier, you're experienced in quality assurance and are comfortable leading a team. This newly created role involves ensuring that the construction division of the company is upheld to the highest standards, taking responsibility for a team of Assessors and ensuring that KPI's, targets and quality assurance are met; so a good knowledge and experience of the construction industry, apprenticeships and IQA activities is essential here. Lead IQA (Construction): The essentials.

• It is essential that you hold a V1 or TAQA Level 4 for a minimum of 2 years
• Experience in leading and managing teams of Assessors
• Experience of delivery and quality assurance activities in Construction Operations to Level 2 Apprenticeships
• Experienced in conducting observations, sampling of work to the highest standards
• Verifier Qualification (IQA, V1, TAQA Level 4)
• Literacy and Numeracy Qualifications (at Level 2 or Above)
• Knowledge of government funded employment and training programmes
• Full UK driving licence and use of own car
• Assessment/Assessing/Assessor Qualifications (A1,TAQA)

Lead IQA (Construction): Your experience.

• Occupational history and competence within the industry (Minimum of 2 years)
• Experience in a similar role
• An interest in helping people develop
• Accurate report writing and record keeping skills
• Planning and delivering vocational training programmes and workshops
• Observing and assessing staff and learners in their workplace

Lead IQA (Construction): The desirables.

• Management experience with the ability to manage a team of tutors including performance management and appraisals
• Good people skills
• Be able to work on own initiative
• Excellent communication skills
• IAG Qualification
• Teaching qualification (PTLLS, PGCE, Cert Ed )
• Apprenticeship & commercial training knowledge

Lead IQA (Construction): The organisation.

• Having Nationwide coverage, this well established Training Provider have been delivering apprenticeships for over 8 years and are one of the market leaders within the Rail & Construction Training Industry. Investing time into their client's needs ensuring that the highest quality of training is delivered. Investing in their own staff development and promoting from within the business ensuring staff morale is high and contagious to be successful.

Lead IQA (Construction): The role.

• You will be working directly with the Apprenticeship Director at the Head Office ensuring that the construction division is upheld to the highest standards
• You will be responsible for a team of Assessors ensuring that KPI's, targets and quality assurance are met
• Having a good knowledge and experience of the construction industry, apprenticeships and IQA activities
• Must be able to implement standardisations, be able to observe teaching, and sampling of work
• Planning, organising and be capable of leading standardisation meetings with the team
• Lead EQA visits for the construction sector
• Experience in a similar role including the ability to develop scheme of works and session plans
• Be able to support new and qualified assessors ensuring that you can identify training needs and implement where required, and support your staff through quality assurance feedback and performance reviews
• A minimum salary of £25-£35K is on offer, dependant upon skills and achievements
• Flexible working Hours (In relation to meeting industry needs)
• 20 days holiday increasing by 1 day per year to a maximum of 24 + Bank Holidays
• Laptop, mobile and tools of the trade provided
• Mileage Paid
• Company vehicle may be available
• A DBS (formerly CRB) check prior to commencement of role is required.
