Mechanical Trainer/Assessor: The essentials.

• Hold a level three qualification in Mechanical Engineering and have completed a full level 3 apprenticeship.
• Have a sound knowledge of Mechanical engineering principles
• Good numeracy, literacy and computer skills
• Communicates effectively, both orally, and in writing, with learners, employers and other professionals
• Proven ability, maturity and confidence to deal with a diverse range of personnel
• Self-starter, able to manage a variety of projects independently
• Patient and shows control in challenging situations


Mechanical Trainer/Assessor: Your experience.

• Have a minimum of three years Mechanical experience in industry
• Competent in domestic or industrial installation & maintenance


Mechanical Trainer/Assessor: The desirables.

• Competent in domestic or industrial installation & maintenance, with proven knowledge and experience on plant and process control systems would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Hold an assessor qualification or be willing to work towards attaining
• Hold a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards attaining
• Has experience of delivering and developing Mechanical Engineering courses
• An understanding of the Advanced Apprenticeship Framework and the funding process
• Knowledge of alternative teaching/learning options
• Has experience of Training Needs Analysis and Programme Design


Mechanical Trainer/Assessor: The organisation.

• The client is an Ofsted Outstanding Grade 1 training organisation, based in Cumbria. The company was established in June 2000 by 5 well know local partner companies within the energy and engineering sectors. The client has a fantastic success rate with over 98% of apprentices progressing into full time employment.
• Their learners include; Apprentices, Adult learners, Higher Education learners and other corporate learners on short courses. They have five modern training centres across Cumbria with classrooms, workshops and IT suites to complete learners' experience.


Mechanical Trainer/Assessor: The role.

• The role of the Mechanical Trainer/Assessor is to deliver, assess and where necessary offer support to learners engaged in Mechanical engineering courses up to level 3, in accordance with the awarding body guidelines.
• To develop and maintain the current Mechanical engineering course material including lesson plans and schemes of work for a range of courses.
• Assist in assessing, changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
• Assume responsibility for meeting his/her course and learner performance goals.
• Provide feedback and support to learners on a one to one/ group basis
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Training Manager
• Up to £30,568 dependent on qualifications & Experience, plus Attractive benefits package
