Job Description
Are you an experienced Operations Manager within the Apprenticeship sector? Are you interested in working for one of the UK’s leading Engineering Training providers?

Alderwood are currently working with a specialist Engineering Apprenticeship Training Provider. Due to growth, we are recruiting for an Operations Manager who will be responsible for c15 Assessors delivering throughout the UK.

Location: Home & National. Candidates will ideally live within the Midlands

Operational Performance – Role Responsibilities

• Accountable for Apprenticeship division operational performance

• Manage the overall performance and productivity of the Operations team to achieve targets/KPIs

• Lead the Operations team to achieve overall and timely success rates that exceed national benchmarks and internal performance measures

• Working collaboratively with Business Development department, plan, monitor and evaluate capacity and caseloads of Operational staff

• Manage IQA and Apprenticeship Co-ordinators to ensure frequency, content and consistency of reviews and assessment

• Develop a culture of performance improvement including review of delivery model and appropriate changes agreed. Implemented efficiently and effectively for business and learner benefit

• Deliver a high performance culture where people feel valued and engaged

• Recruit, manage, develop and retain an appropriately qualified delivery team

• Lead and empower the department with clarity and purpose

• Manage department staff to take responsibility and to be accountable for business deliverables, ensuring consequences of not meeting targets are actioned timely and appropriately

• Manage performance issues with Operations team (including probationary, performance improvement and disciplinary reviews)

Skills required:
• Degree level or equivalent experience
• Ability to interpret data and management information.
• Ability to interpret profit and loss account
• L&D and/or management qualifications
• Assessor and/or Verifier awards
• Knowledge of Levy, Trailblazers & new funding landscape

Candidates must have experience within the Engineering OR Manufacturing apprenticeship provisions. Engineering occupational competence or candidates with a background in Engineering or Manufacturing apprenticeship delivery is preferred.

Salary and Benefits
• Up to £50,000 DOE
• Car Allowance of £5000pa OR Company Car

• 23 days annual leave + bank holidays
