Job Description

The main responsibility of the role is to lead and manage the Quality team. To manage risk through the external quality assurance of centres, in line with IQ and regulatory requirements and deliver an excellent customer experience.

The successful candidate will work with other Director of Compliance and Delivery to lead on:

The learning and development strategy for the Quality delivery team to ensure effective sampling, coaching, training and standardisation.

 Ensuring we have the right systems and processes in place enabling us to track the management and monitoring of centres, products and services including those of High Priority

About You

You will have experience working proficiently with a proven track record in Quality Assurance.

You'll possess a drive to exceed expectations with a positive attitude to change.  This role requires you to drive implementation whist continually demonstrating our values and acting as role model for others.   You'll have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at senior levels. Also the ability to make confident decisions with little or no support.

To perform this role effectively, you will need technical expertise in a range of the following areas:

Experience in managing the Quality Assurance function in the education sector.

Experience in carrying out investigations.

Have a good understanding and working knowledge of the General Conditions for Recognition and other regulatory requirements.

Experience of setting, managing and controlling a significant budget, including forecasting

Someone who understands the current developments and methodologies in education, training, assessment and product design

Demonstrable success in change management programmes in a varying-demand customer services environment

You will also need demonstrable experience in:

Strong organisational and project management skills

Proven experience of moving quickly in a changing environment, must be able to demonstrate attention to detail, excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

In your communication with stakeholders and suppliers:

Experience of handling difficult conversations and be able to give direct honest feedback, using the right mechanisms

Someone who keeps their commitments, even when it is difficult or inconvenient

The ability to make complex situations simple without confusing everyone else in the process



The following qualifications or their equivalent predecessor qualifications are the minimum required for this post.

Level 4 or above recognised Teaching Qualification

Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement

Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice

Level 4 Award in the External Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice


Level 3 or above Management qualification.
