Job Description

RMF Construction Training Academy require a Lead Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to develop and support the delivery of robust assessment and internal quality assurance systems and processes. That:

  • Fully meets the requirements of Awarding Organisations.
  • Forms the driver for evidencing that management vision, values and continuous improvement are implemented
  • All quality strategy is monitored and are measured to ensure targets are met for business development
  • Ensures that the SAR/QIP is accurate and the process is driven by quality outputs, internal and external KPI's and targets.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • In liaison with the Head of Learning and Compliance develop and maintain relationships with relevant Awarding Organisations.
  • To develop and support the implementation of the Company Internal Quality Assurance Strategy and Company Assessment Strategy.
  • Co-ordinate External Quality Assurance visits from Awarding Organisations.
  • Monitor the assessor sampling process ensuring that Internal Quality Assurers have robust plans in place and are implementing sampling actives.
  • Ensure that accurate and timely reports on Assessor and Internal Quality Assurer activity are produced as and when required by the Head of Learning and Compliance.
  • Monitor, support and develop the performance and skills of Assessors/Internal Quality Assurers to Awarding Organisation requirements.
  • Manage the Internal Quality Assurers standardisation, ensuring that effective meetings take place in line with the Company Internal Quality Assurance policy requirements and are evidenced with auditable documentation.
  • Update policies and procedures where required and implement company vision and values into quality activities and initiatives.
  • Maintain own records of CPD as well as manage Assessor/IQA CPD in line with targets.
  • Manage mentorship and timely achievement of working towards assessors and verifiers.
  • Perform the responsibilities of the Lead Internal Quality Assurer as set out in the RMF Internal Quality Assurance policy and procedure.
  • Assist clients in joint quality activities and audits.
  • Compile data on centre performance and prepare management reports.
  • Manage and update the SAR/QIP process.
  • Assist with and follow the agreed procedure if disputes and appeals arise.

Essential Requirements:


  • D32, D33, D34, TAQA or A1, V1, IQA (With current upgrades)
  • Proven record of current occupational competence and knowledge.
  • Driving Licence and use of a car
  • Capable of passing security clearance criteria


  • Recognised Health & Safety qualification (IOSH Managing Safely/ Nebosh)
  • Good IT skills
  • Working knowledge of the Rail and Construction Industry
  • Working knowledge of Awarding Organisation requirements for assessment and internal quality assurance activities
  • Proven on-the-job experience
  • DBS Disclosure
