Job Description
Programme Manager

Fantastic opportunity if you are already a Programme Manager or maybe looking for the next step from Assessor to manage the Assessor function both internally and externally within an established and successful local business ensuring business targets and client satisfaction is achieved.

The successful candidate will:
  • Ensure start visits and monthly visits are carried out in a timely manner and ensuring the training programmes that apprentices are engaged in are always relevant to the clients business needs.
  • Setting monthly targets and team objectives.
  • Working with the management team to set new business objectives and strategy.
Key Activities

Learner Review meetings
  • Ensure that all Learner Review Meetings take place every 12 weeks, at the place of employment, with both the learner and employer present.
  • record how the training delivered has been transferred into the workplace by the learner.
  • include activities that reflect on safety issues and equality topics.
  • involve the employer in shaping the delivery of the training through to the next review
  • are accurately recorded on One File and PICs.
Team Updates
  • Meet with staff individually to discuss their portfolio of learners, identifying those learners/employers that may need some intervention to enable timely completion.
  • Discuss IQA feedback
Training Team Liaison


  • Meet with member(s) of the training team to discuss issues around learners’ performance in the training room and ensure these are addressed with their employer 
Start Visits


  • Liaise with the recruitment team to understand the background to our work with the new Apprentice and the employer.
  • Organise for a member of the team to carry out the start visit
  • Ensure that the learner, the employer, and our trainers are all clear about the training that has been agreed, the timetable for delivering it and the rationale for the programme.
  • Safeguarding
  • Liaise with the senior management team on individual issues of safeguarding.
Person Specification

Essential Experience:
  • At least 2 ½ years people management
  • At least 3 years Assessing experience in the field of Customer Service and Business Administration
  • Client escalation process both internally and externally
Essential Skills:
  • Candidates will be expected to be able to demonstrate the following skills
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as within a team
  • Manage a caseload, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail is maintained at all times
  • Problem-solving - ensuring outcomes are acceptable to all parties.
